Many of us feel that cooking is hard and you need a lot of ingredients to add flavor and taste to a dish. Sometimes, the most simplest recipes and combination of ingredients give you an exciting and delicious dish. Salmon and asparagus are like best friends and when combined with butter, garlic and chili flakes, give you an amazing quick fire recipe which can be eaten for lunch or dinner! Oh, and adding to the taste are the health benefits that these two main ingredients provide. Rich in vitamins, fiber and omega 3 fatty acids, these are a perfect way to eat healthy. I have used salmon fillets and fresh asparagus for this recipe, but if you have access to fresh salmon, then all the better!
Pan fried salmon with buttered garlic and chili asparagus
Red chili flakes-1tbsp
Minced garlic- 2tbsps
1)Season the salmon fillets with some salt and pepper. Chop off the bottom part of the asparagus and keep them aside.
2)Then on a pan, heat up a bit of oil(to ensure the butter does not burn). Then add some butter along with the minced garlic and red chili flakes. Saute for a few minutes.
3)Then add the asparagus to the pan and cook till they turn a bit brown and crunchy.
4)Now,on another pan, add some oil along with some butter and fry the salmon fillets on the pan for about 5 minutes on each side at medium heat. Make sure they are not overcooked or dry.
5)Then plate it on top of the asparagus as shown in the picture along with the crumbly bits of chili flakes and minced garlic. Enjoy!:)
